Windows 7 Resource Monitor Starts Itself

I have 2 weird things in a row this morning and I was hoping to get some opinions. I was the last one out of the office last night and the first one in this morning. I come in and my office door is locked. It is never locked and I never lock it. So once in my office I wake my computer and Resource Monitor is running on my PC and I didn't even know this program existed.

So I understand Resource Monitor is a common tool that I just never noticed before but is it possible that it started itself?

To come in to find a program running on my computer that I have never opened before is pretty weird. I also do not share this computer with anyone else.

I understand the locked door and this program may be unrelated but I need some assistance to debunk conspiracy theories.

Thanks!

Possibly an IT person was called in? Use Resource Monitor to see if all is correct here:

To identify the network address that a process is connected to
  1. Click the Network tab, and then click the title bar of TCP Connections to expand the table.
  2. Locate the process whose network connection you want to identify. If there are a large number of entries in the table, you can click Image to sort by executable file name.
  3. Review the Remote Address and Remote Port columns to see which network address and port the process is connected to.
