SP1 consistently fails to install. I have tried all the usual suggestions including the System Readiness Tool. The CHECKSUR logs are included below.

Can anyone help me correct the corrupted System Store? Thanks in advance.

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have to confess I have tried most of them at least once. I did find someone on this forum with a similar issue and the eventual solution was replacing the messed up files with new copies. In the case the saviour was able to supply the files.

Suggest you reboot on completion.

Tried everything suggested to no avail. Can anyone help? No support available as OEM support only and I dont have the disks as Windows 7 installed by supplier. In any case the files I need are part of a patch by Microsoft that I didnt even want to take......... no cannot get the files from a CD.

an anyone supply these corrupt files.... nothing I've tried seems to work

Sometimes for the sake of customisation we change the boot and logon on screens with or without third party software like say Tune-up Utilities.

If that was done then SP1 would not install. Therefore it is necessary to revert to the original screens and install SP1. Once done we can again go back to the changed screens.

I am afraid I do not hae one. Windws 7 came preinstalled. I've asked a friend to try and extract these files from his machine / DVD BUT because these were patches he does not have them.

You need not worry if you have the Product Key with you.

You can download an ISO image of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life and burn on to a DVD to create your own Windows 7 Installer. To activate after installation you can use the the existing Product Key that you already possess.

My first target is the KB2633952 :) Here goes.

  1. Please click on the following link to download KB2633952 for Windows 7 x64:

    Download: Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2633952) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

  2. Save this file to the root folder of your main hard drive - for example: C:\Windows6.1-KB2633952-x64.msu
  3. When that finishes, open your start menu and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  5. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it and press enter

    expand -f:* %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Windows6.1-KB2633952-x64.msu %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Update

  6. Then repeat for this command:

    expand -f:* %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Update\Windows6.1-KB2633952-x64.cab %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Update\Extracted

  7. Then repeat for this command:
