Hi.

I've read multiple threads over the internet, but it always ends in the same story.

I have 3 computers (A, B, C), all windows 7 professional. All are part of the same home group.

I have a memory stick called Drive F:

I want to share Drive F which is located on Computer C with Computer B. But I don't want Computer A to see it.

I can easily share with "EVERYONE" and all computers see the drive and can access it.

When I try to change EVERYONE to Computer B using Advanced Sharing (using the permissions button) by I clicking the "Add" a "group or user name" a box comes up allowing me to select groups or users "From this location" (which you can then try to select a computer). Unfortunately, I only see the computer I'm on (computer A).

This is where I get stuck every time. I can't figure out how to get Computer C to show other network locations in that box so I can pick Computer B only.

Ideas hugely appreciated....

Frank.

You can't hide the share, the best you can do is restrict access to it. I don't use homegroups, so I don't know if it allows that kind of access restriction. If you decide to use workgroups, I can help you configure your shares so only certain people can access the files/folders.

Hello, thanks for replying!

Do all of your users have passwords?

Yes indeed. I have full control, all the user accounts, all passwords, etc, and fulll physical access to all machines.
