Nothing is perfect buy my W7 install has been very close.
Had some display issues = revised driver fixed that
Had a few BSODs = checked my new RAM & it was bad
Had a few Microsoft Exchange issues = my brain just could not remember some settings
Had a print spool issue = can't remember how I fixed that in the end?
I'm almost looking for things to fix........
So a week or so ago I decided to upgrade the Macbook to Snow Leopard.
The SL upgrade did make the Macbook play nice with a W7 WORKGROUP & a printer share but....
Now my oldish version of Office for Mac has issues.
The best universal video converter for the money ($25) ever VisualHub has issues.
SL was only $33.00 put I have to spend $79 to get iDVD & iMovie to work right again for my wife!

I mean, a clean install takes me less than 15 minutes, Windows 7 is a beast on the install.

My tip:
Always stay one generation behind bleeding edge.
I upgrade hardware about once in 6-8 months, but I never get anything that is the "latest".
That is one of the easiest ways to ensure that any new OS you run will give no hassles.
The only thing I refuse to discard is my HP 1010 Laser. I got that for free, and there is always a workaround.
7 though has been a revelation in terms of hardware management. I never have to run around searching for drivers for old(ish) hardware, which is one of the most prominent reasons people have trouble with it.
Also, no trouble at all with most software.
