Well my wireless says 11Mbps. And my internet is swift. Are you sure it isnt your ISP?
Test with another laptop and see how it compares.

After downloading the driver, I feel that my connection has speeded up through.

EDIT: The only laptop is my father's one. What do you mean it isn't my ISP?

My father's one is Windows XP and his one is 54.0 mbps.

Is it just me or Windows 7 doesn't work well with wireless?

Well mine says 11Mbps, and it's fast. I'm on cable broadband. I don't think it can go any faster, not that i take alot of notice on that speed indicator. I could boot to Xp and check the indicator and see if it's the same.

Go into your router and see what mode is selectec A,B,G or N.

Then in Properties of your wireless adapter, Config button. Check each property of each A,B, G and . What values are they?

You then might have to select which ever type corresponds to the biggest value.

I don't know what you mean by mode but if you mean Wireless network mode, mine is Mixed. The other three options are: Disabled, B-Only and G-Only.

Those modes are indictive of the speed, my B-Only had value 11Mbps, so i changed it to G-Only which is 54Mbps. If the router only allow you to choose Mixed, B and G, then that's what it is compatible with.

B-Only gives me constant 11.0 Mbps while G-Only is almost like Mixed. (Moving from 24.0 to 54.0 Mbps)

Hmm... Maybe I should stick with Mixed?

Which ever is higher i suppose, but then for me 11mbps or 54mbps, it seem to be the same...if you want, you could buy a N router, so they say but how fast is your ISP?

Idk how fast is my ISP all I know is that its fast when its at 54.0 mbps (Windows XP) and buying a N router can speed up the connection? Since its a N router, I suppose the wireless network mode can be set to N-Only?

Like I said, the number don't mean much, definately if u are just surfing the net. For big downloads, i think ur ISP plays a big part. Maybe talk to them if u feel ur speed is not adequate.
