While installing Service Pack 1 RTM on top of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 should be a walk in the park for the vast majority of users, there will also be those that are bound to come across some issues.
According to Microsoft, the deployment of SP1 RTM can negatively impact a select list of programs if they’re already installed in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
The Redmond company has published
KB2492938 detailing the problems that customers can come across.
The software giant provided examples of programs that will not run after installing Service Pack 1 RTM, including IncrediMail Xe 2.0 from IncrediMail Ltd., Lenovo System Update from Lenovo, and Ninja Trader 7.0; 6.5 from Ninja Trader.
