Ok, so i had Windows Vista 32-bit installed on my Hp. Then today i put in my windows 7 OS and start it. I did a clean install, deleted my hp_recovery and my 160 gig drive. Just left the system reserve partition of 77mb. Installation went perfect. So last step was to reboot and start enjoying it. Then it starts, bios goes up then black screen, then BAM!!!! a square of color symbols of patters and sort of things!... so i restarted and pressed f5, f8 to get in safe mode and nothing. I re-installed and still same issue!. Then i put OS back in and when it ask to boot from dvd i press f5 and it did go into safe mode, so i figured to install it in safe mode. and nope same issue.! could it be the system reserve partion buggin something.!! cuz im so pi***** Any help???

I ran windows 7 adviser before install and said all hardware and programs were good to go for the upgrade.

Are you just Reformatting the HDD using the tool on the windows 7 disk? Is the Bios set to boot from HDD by default?

Maybe try using Dban and then reinstalling. I'm not sure on this one, but I guess you might be really wanting your computer back so its worth a try.

Hello hondureno, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have a look at the tutorial at the link below, though it says SSD it works with HDDs also, it'll wipe everything on the HDD so that you have a fresh start, be sure to do all 4 steps; don't forget to post back to let us know how it sorts out.
