Solved Windows 7 Startup change?

Hello,

This is a pretty new laptop. Three weeks old to be exact. Anywho. You guys know how on Windows 7 when you start up the laptop/desktop/all-in-one those cool red, blue, green, and yellow are supposed to come and make the windows Icon? Well, I'm not exactly sure when this changed, but not instead of that I get the Microsof Corporation and a bar under it with three green slits or lines or whatever you feel like calling it, running through the bar. Is it possible to have this changed back to the way it was? Because I kinda like it that way.

Well does anyone have anymore suggestions? I tried the command prompt one 5-8 times tonight, made my resolution that suggested one and restarted to try and didn't work.

My resolution is 1600 x 900, so I don't think that is the issue.

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map and listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu so we can see if there's anything obvious.

Try running Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times from Win7 installer System Recovery Options or System Repair Disk. This contains all boot repair commands and fixes.

If that fails I would ask baarod at EightForums who gave me commands which restored the animation in a 7/8 Dual Boot here and would likely know the exact commands for 7.

Uhm...When I press F8 at startup I don't see the Advanced Boot Options above startup. I just see the safe mode stuff..

That's why I specifically said to boot the installer or Repair CD.

-_- I don't have a Repair CD. I have the Repair functions IN THE LAPTOP. I obviously can read with no trouble at all. And I checked the System Recovery Options but I don't see the advanced boot options when I pressed F8.

I made the System Repair disc, but when I boot it doesn't seem as if it detects the CD inside the E: Drive after I restart my laptop. Is this normal?

Tap the HP ESC or F9 key at boot repeatedly, choose the CD drive to boot. Do you then get a prompt to Press any key to boot CD? Hit Enter and see if it loads.

Run Startup Repair a few times to see if it restores the animation.

If it doesn't ask Baarod by messaging him at the link I gave you to write you the Commands to run to restore Win7 boot animation, as he did for me for Win8 in a Dual Boot issue we had at EightForums recently which I linked above. It may even be the same commands.

That was the first time I haven't had to reinstall on this issue.

I didn't see a boot from CD or DVD when I tried f9 nor the ESC key. So I just PMed Baaron on Seven Forums, although I think I'm to join Eight forums so he can get the message. Is this correct?

Reboot. Repeatedly tap F9 after BIOS messages appear. Choose Repair. Login and select command prompt. Run these commands where X is your boot drive and WIN is the path to the Windows 7 directory:
bcdboot WIN /s X /v
bootsect /nt60 SYS /mbr
bootsect /nt60 SYS

I got the issue fixed everyone. My bootres.dll file wasn't working right so it didn't give me the Windows 7 Startup file. So my friend gave me hers and deleted mines. And the startup worked like a charm again.

What about the commands Baarod gave you to try? Did you try them at all?
