Hello,

I have made serious mistake. I have deleted system reserved partition and all files with it. Worst thing is that it is my company laptop, and i have a lot of stuff on it. Which means, that i can't start system now. Hard drive is encrypted so i can't restore anything. Only solution is to make Windows somehow to start. At least to go to DOS to copy the files. Going to the company is not an option, since i will not be there for 2 months.

Can anybody tell me how can i do it? Where can i find all of these files? Are they dependent from computer configuration, or they are general files valid for everything?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards.

Hi

Please download "Partition Wizard" bootable CD from the below link and boot from it.

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

Then use a digital cam or smart phone to take closeup shot of the screen and post it with next reply.

Hard drive is encrypted so i can't restore anything.

This will make everything difficult. If full disk encryption is used, recreating boot files won't work. Most of the full disk encryption like "Symantec Endpoint Encryption" write custom code to the MBR. Overwriting this with a standard MBR code will make things worse. partition need to be recovered without modifying the MBR code.

Do you know which encryption software is used ?. What was the reason for deleting the partition ?.

Do you required to input a password before beginning the boot process ? (Preboot Authentication ).

Welcome to our forum zaricmica.
I do have a question or two.
Why would you do such a thing on a company computer?
What process did you use to do the removal. Maybe it's still there.
If the hard drive is encrypted you must have the encryption code to be able to do anything.

HI,

Thanks for quick reply. We use SafeNet encryption. Other systems see that HDD is not formatted. SO i don't know how it will end up in the end.

Yes. I have used a password before beginning of boot process. But with this error, i don't have this window. It will just say that windows can't load. I made this error, when i was creating USB boot drive, but in a program it was selected C drive, not USB. After the restart pc couldn't boot anymore. It was registering that i have windows 7, and that is it. I have tried to repair it, but without success. Then i took some partition tool, and deleted this system reserved partition, to try to recreate a new one.

This is the history of my problem. I am already convinced that it was doomed

You were asked how you deleted the partition. If it was only deleted it may be undeleted using Partition Wizard CD Partition Recovery Wizard - Video Help.

If not then you can try to recreate the System Reserved partition. We need to see a camera snap of the Partition Wizard drive map showing all listings in order to advise you best. However in general you would use PW CD to Create an NTFS Primary partition in the space, Modify>Set to Active, then boot into the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk to run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

The Win7 disk for your licensed version and bit rate is in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

@zaricmica

The first thing you should do is contact the system administrator or IT department in your company and explain the situation to them. You already seems to did a considerable damage - recreating the "System reserved" may make the issue worse.

I did some search about "SafeNet" and it seems that recovery solutions are available to extract data from unbootable/dmaged disks. But the recovery tools are not publicly available - that is why i recommend to contact the system admin.

Why is the file System "Other?" Is this a UEFI BIOS where you actually deleted the UEFI System partition? If so then recreating the System Reserved partition will not work. I'm not sure anything will work until you resolve why the partition type is "Other." Did you convert it?

What exactly were you trying to accomplish when you deleted the boot partition? For the third time, how did you delete it exactly? What was its size and where was it located?

I have contacted them, but i am trying to take out the data, since i need them. By anyway i will send it to our IT department. This is just give it a try. But i already did big damage, so i suspect that data could be returnet. Can i just copy all neccessary boot files from somewhere? Or create them somehow, and without disk repair?

Filesystem other is because HDD is encrypted. So nothing can be seen. 300MB partition i deleted from some partition tool located in Hirens CD. And then i recreated partition again. I wanted to make new partition, since this one was corrupted with clonezilla files.

I agree with Anshad.
It's a company computer and they should be contacted. I quite sure you don't have to be there to contact them. As far as I know the forum doesn't help override the settings of a company I.T. Department.

What were you trying to do when you messed up the company computer?
I quite sure the I.T. Department will ask the same question.

Their is a possibility that the I.T. Department set the encryption and password to lock this computer when fooled with.

They are contacted, and informed. It is not a problem with them. I have just needed data from HDD at the moment. That's why wanted to try to save some data.

I told already. I wanted to make bootable clonezilla USB. But program default is C: not usb. And it made bootable HDD. Now it is too late for correcting any of these mistakes.

Source : SafeNet Japan Announces Latest Versions 9.2 of ProtectDrive and ProtectDrive for Servers 9.2 Disk Encryption Software

In the event that Windows fails to boot, ProtectDrive is equipped with various recovery tools as standard features, including a tool for launching Windows PE from a CD-ROM and extracting a desired file from an encrypted disk drive, and a tool for launching from a CD/DVD and decrypting an entire disk drive. These tools can be used even when the client is not connected to a network.

There is a WinPE recovery disc available to deal with situations like this. But as i said earlier, you can't download it from their site. Your companies IT department should create a customized boot disk with the necessary encryption keys. So basically there is only one way i can see - request the IT department to prepare a recovery disc and they should send the disc image to you ( will be around only 300 MB or so ). Then burn the disc and boot from it. You will be able to copy data to an external medium using the recovery disc.

It depends on if the System files are encrypted. If they are not then you should be able to start it by using the repair regimen developed here in beta that's worked in countless thousands of cases, to Mark Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

If not then delete that 300mb partition at the end, use PW to create it NTFS Primary marked Active, then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

You've then done all you can to try to start it, replacing the System boot files and again making the drive bootable. If it won't work it may be due to encryption or corruption or both.

Thanks for your replies. In the end i will try to do this. And if nothing i will wait for them if they have some rescue disc, just to bypass encryption so i could save the data. And then they can do whatever they want with the system. I just don't want my data to be deleted. And i need them now. If i didn't need them, then i wouldn't make so big fuzz.

Can you please tell us what you were trying to do when you deleted System Reserved, if that's what you did?

How did you delete it?

How did you resize back to the left, if you did?

These things can matter.

Please don't do anything more other than these attempts to repair the boot which cannot hurt anything further.
