Windows 7 Taskbar Features Stopped Working

Recently I've discovered that Win 7 taskbar icon features such as displaying progress by color or showing media player controls (play, pause) that support it. It seems applications can not make calls to windows 7 taskbar features because it's a global problem and not just with one application. For example: Media Controls of MusicBee, Spotfiy and TeraCopy's copy/move progress coloring as an icon background. I'm using the default Aero theme.

It should have Cover Art and play/pause/stop controls beneath it. Also it's just not related to Music Bee only.

Any way I can fix this?

Download, install declining trial, update then Run a full scan with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware, run System File Checker to test system files, then continue with the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 reporting back as you go for possible other steps.

If you have a bloated AV, uninstall to test one of the recommended free lightweight ones which will not interfere.
