Solved Windows 7 Theme

Hi I'm wondering if anyone could suggest me a Windows 7 theme (plain black if possible) that will work on a computer that doesn't have a graphics card that supports the aero effect.

Why Dont you try and mod it yourself. Trial and Error.

I'm not sure what kind of results you're going to get with the graphic card that doesn't support Aero, what happens when you try to used a regular aero theme doesn't turn into Windows classic?

If you want to try something this is my favorite dark theme charleston2378's deviantART gallery it's almost black.

Well atm I was thinking if I could at least get a theme that looks better than the default "your computer does not support aero look"

XP blue theme was even better than what I have now!

So what happens when you try to use the default Windows 7 Aero theme?

It shows windows classic i.e. like aero without the glass effect

I can't change the theme colour as I know my graphics card won't support it.

P.S. Although I think the theme is good above could anyone recommend me a theme that just has a black taskbar and the top of the window colour is black as opposed to everything being black.

Have you tried to use the Windows Classic Theme and then use Option 2 Steps 7 and 8 of this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/282-window-color-appearance-change.html to change the color and appearance?

Make and model of pc is a Dell Dimension 3100c (unsure of video card, hopefully you will have better luck finding it)

WEI = 1.0. I know for a fact I need a new graphics card to support the aero effect on W7.

If you're willing to spend a little money, I suggest you look into using WindowBlinds from StarDock. I had an old XP-era laptop I used daily that did not support Aero and I got tired of looking at the same Basic desktop day after day. Stardock has lots of themes you can download that will make your desktop look great.

Also, there may be an old thread (of mine) in this forum that asked about Windows Basic themes from Deviant Art. Some of them looked quite good and there was a service you could install that would allow third-party themes without having the mess with modifying System files.
