Lost my Windows 7 password

How can I open my TOSHIBA NB500 netbook, running Windows 7 Starter, without the password?

I tried F8 on Startup, which doesn't do anything, but then worked out if I pressed F12 instead and then selected LAN, it was possible to click F8 and get the Safe Mode options. Clicking on Safe Mode with Command Prompt should have given me the opportunity to add a new User Name and Password, but after scrolling lots of lines of code it just opened the Windows password page again. I don't have a Password Reset key on a USB stick. I took the BIOS battery out for 10 mins and that made no difference either.

Any suggestions?

If you enable the built in Administrator account you can sign in with that, then use it to reset you own account's password.

That's for Method I.

For Method II you don't need to download anything to your PC, but, if you don't already have one, you will need to make a Windows 7 install USB or repair disk to be able to boot to a command prompt at startup.

I had assumed you were posting from another PC that you could use, but maybe you are posting from a phone.

Do you have another PC you could use? Could you borrow a friend's? Or maybe use one at a library or internet cafe?
