Hi I am using W7 Ultimate SP0 64-Bit en-US (Build 6.1.7600.16385) I have installed .NET framework 4.0 and some programs that require it work but then some programs when I try to run them I get the ".Net Initialization Error" box saying "Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."

Is there a packaged .NET framework 4.0 which contains all files needed whether they are supposed to be on the PC already or not so that when installed there are no files/dependencies missing whatsoever even if from previous versions of .NET framework all files whether from sys32 folder, winsys or whatever so I won't get the dreaded ".NET Initialization Error"?

Another question I have is if you do get .NET error is there some log file or otherwise that says exactly what is missing or what file I need on my PC so that it would work regardless of if it installs with the .NET package?

Sorry for the long post I just wish these issues were simpler!

I've read .NET framework 4.5 is better than .NET framework 4.0 if there are issues with 4.0...

You could also ask for this thread to be moved to the Windows Updates and & Activation forum.
The experts there might be able to give you better help.
