Here is the lowdown.

-I have 2 laptops with Windows 7 Ultimate on them.
-One is 32bit, the other is 64bit.

-I have one desktop that is 64bit.

The problem I have am having is that on all of them. All my files (except native windows files ie: windows folder, etc, etc) have icons in the bottom left corner. The icon is the generic unknown file icon for windows 7. The icon is fine, there is just a smaller one in the foreground. It is quite annoying especially on video files the have previews enabled. I have not included a screenshot because I am currently at work, but when I get home, I shall post one. Any info?

PS. I have looked up Windows 7 overlays briefly here at work to no avail.

Could you post a screen-shot please? Either using the Prt Sc Button on your Keyboard, and then copying to clipboard - or by using the Snipping tool. :) Kind-of confusing as to what you mean :D Thanks

I am confused, also. Are you viewing these files in Windows Explorer? If so, it may a file association problem.

Here you go, I had my female send me a quick PNG. This is on Windows 7 32bit. Also file associations are optimal.

Looks like someone tried to remove the shortcut arrows and it didn't take properly. Give this a read,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3606-shortcut-arrow-remove-restore.html

and see which way (remove or restore) fixes it.

My thought exactly but, you see, I have already done everything in the link. I have restored them, reboot, copied from dvd, blah blah blah. So I thought it might be something else because these are not shorcuts. There are the actual files whether is be executable or media or etc.

I have already done both. Same problems. 32bit no longer has problem. My females computer. She knows nothing besides how to use the mouse so I doubt she fixed it, but it has somehow reverted itself on hers.
