Solved Windows 7 Ultimate Virtual XP USB drivers

Not many Windows 7 drivers will work with XP. You have to understand that VM is a different machine and that it runs XP. Treat them that way and you won't have a problem. Be careful what hardware you share because they may not all be compatible with XP. The drivers that Microsoft includes with VM-XP are generic drivers and may not support all the features of Windows 7 drivers. Don't expect them to. If you need specific drivers make sure they are Windows XP drivers for the VM.

I'll try that now. Also just refreshed all the motherboard drivers on the Windows 7 Ultimate side and when I tried to install them on the VXP side they are blocked with a JBrowser.exe file message, I also checked within windows and registry and there is no referance to this JBrowser.exe file being hidden or visible.

JBrowser may be part of the GigObites drivers you tried to load. Don't try to load non-XP drivers to XP.

Yes Tony, that is correct but you can't change those settings while the VM-XP machine is running. They have to be set when the VM is down through the Settings screen.

Agreed with the RAM but when the tool bar shows and the XP mode is windowed you can change most settings. It tells you in the info at the bottom of the window that the XP VM must be shut down to adjust the ram setting.
The XP mode does a quick restart and the settings are then active. I only set this VM up a few days ago and downloaded the software for M$. Maybe they made some settings easier?

Checking with other sources the possibility that a Voltage requirement may be required to run USBs on VXP does anyone know what this amp/vt standard would be? Also any thing in registry that would prevent the process?

No. To test remove your hub and plug drive into USB socket on machine. I have no idea why it is not working for you. I have Windows 7 64 bit running a Virtual windows 7 64 bit running 32 bit XP mode and it works absolutely perfectly for me. I am also using a hub.

Check this setting. I have asked you twice before and you have never replied with a answer. "Drives I insert later" must be checked.

Not splitting hairs but you said drivers which are not the same thing.
I am at a loss as to suggest anything else. It really is not this hard mate.

Don't delete the XP Mode, import it into the VMWare Player from the main menu and try that out.

I found the tools option button but there is nothing which states to activate USBs, when I look at the USB tab it's blank yet I have several attachments to my USB Hub and none are listed.

Let's get back to the basics. What "attachments" are you referring to?

Post an image of your Settings. Also, post an image of your Windows Explorer screen in XP. Installing another VM isn't going to help. Microsoft made the VM-XP simple enough that an office clerk can install it. You're making it more difficult than it needs to be by trying to load Windows 7 drivers in XP.

It's now working cleared the CMOS with new battery then started all the drivers reposted and VXP now has recognized the printer, and externals. Thanks guys for the inputs but I think it was the way the system initially loaded.
