Solved Windows 7 - Unable to install KB4507449, KB4512506, KB4512514

Hey Op,

Is it possible you copied or cloned an HDD with your OS installation to an SSD? I'm having the same issue with updating in 7, and I'm getting "Boot manager failed to find Os Loader" 0x490 after every attempt. Curious if you had the same issue and what your fix was.

Re this thread's error, no did not clone/copy the OS install from one disk to another.
It was an old backup of the OS directory, that was partially used. But the original error was within the original install, but went away after the win dir copy.

To fix those OS loader missing errors, a free program called BootIce might help, which allows you to set MBR and PBR for each OS. For proper cloning and alignment fix you can use free MiniTool Partition Wizard, and to fix the boot menu you can use free cli BCDedit or free gui EasyBCD.

The recent KB as of Sep 10
windows6.1-kb4516655-x64.msu
servicing stack update (SSU)
might be of help however, if you did not resolve your problems by other ways.
You can obtain it from here: Microsoft Update Catalog

Best of luck :)

Not usually, if it does fix what it is designed to, and or it then reports no issues on the CheckSUR.log then it's usually a registry entry or entries and that is sometimes too time consuming to correct, that is why you run SFC /SCANNOW, SURT or my AutoSURT64 which is surt but it places the CBS Folder on you desktop for you, thank you very much. Then you upload that folder, I look at CheckSUR.log, CBS.log, may ask for WindowsUpdate.log most likely not. If there are missing cat, mum or manifests, I search my 800,000 files on my server, uploaded them within my automated tool, you click, click, it installs those files, runs SURT, SURT retrieves the files, installs them in the WinSxS folder and then attempts to place them in the needed OS location. If everything goes totally right, and there is not another issue or issues, then Windows Update works. Well, most probably not, then we look further into the LOGS to find the next level of ISSUE(S). Too many levels, or too many issues, a Repair Install is then the easiest solution. Here are my instructions for repair install. However, please run my Auto SURT64 and post CBS Folder that will appear on your desktop when AutoSURTx64/SURT has completed.

You may follow along as I do and I will explain in plain people speak, what, why how, if you wish.

I don't like to have to explain beforehand as I am now because, OP's have a tendency to not respond and wasting my free time to, well, you get my drift, do what we ask, provide what we request, then ask questions and you will find, we help, answer and fix. Exactly what you are on SevenForums requesting & WE are not, well you know.

Thank you, yes, in the end this (Auto)SURT was used for another error...

Ran avast uninstall for each possible version, and it helped when I had to reverse to an older version due to the then recent version's problems (especially with the "behavior shield"), but the remaining errors from avast as found in checksur.log did not go away but were found by sysnative experts to be somewhat benign and so left alone as sfc/ check is errorfree now again :)

Many thanks for your help and insights!

Awesome! I was in WU academy at Sysnative and had to take medical leave.
Yes, Avast errors are somewhat benign. I have used that method on my machines to remove those. It does work, I've done it many times, sometimes have to run REVO Uninstaller too.
Happy Computing.

If you have a method to remove those avast errors, that would be great!
What needs to be done?
