My computer has been fine, I;ve had it for about nearly a year now. I turned it on today and it was working fine until it crashed and went to the BSOD saying an error had been found etc..
I let it restart and turn itself back on, (this happens quite often) but everything became unresponsive. Tabs came up saying all my browsers, programs such as steam and skype were unresponsive and that the taskbar and microsoft was unresponsive too.
I could move the mouse but I was not able to open any programs.
After a couple minutes of being unresponsive my computer screen turned to the colour of my wallpaper with nothing on it.
Every time I tried turning it back on it would do the same thing, everything becoming unresponsive.
It also said that microsoft could be out of date, but it never previously notified me of an update??

My anti-virus once came up about 3 months ago saying a trojan had been found but it had been disposed of.
I don't know whether it's a problem with the computer itself or if it's a malware or trojan?

I have no idea on what to do, help?!

Well first off, a lot of us recommend switching to Microsoft Security Essentials for a virus scanner. You should experiment with uninstalling AVG and giving MSE a try. Here's the link for it: Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

You should also download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CNET Download.com

After you scan your computer with both and your AVG is gone, update us with your reply. It's likely you have what you're concerned about.

If you don't already have this, throw in Ccleaner: CCleaner - CNET Download.com

When you get that open, click on the registry button and then "scan for issues" then fix them when said scan is done.

ALSO if all else fails, try using windows key + r and run mrt.exe then do a full scan and see what happens. Also reboot somewhere in between your scans.
