Windows 7 unresponsive at times

Has it improved since you turned Windows updates off? I've had similar things in the past - usual causes have been


a) Drive nearly full (check how much space you have left)
b) Some program running in the background all the time - possibly Windows updates and/or something else? Check what's running and what's running at start up.
c) Windows corrupted (do sfc /scannow at command prompt as administrator).
d) Malware etc (run Malwarebytes).

MTL777, did you find a solution to your issue (Windows 7 unresponsive at times)?

Sadly, no. I've tried everything - Win 7 optimization tweaks, turned off Windows Update completely, and all that. Still the problem persists.


I'm considering this Microsoft hot fix, don't know if it applies to my setup. What do you think? Any experience with it?
