Solved Windows 7 x64 cannot bootup after fresh install on Lenovo laptop HELP!

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum, though I come here alot to look for solutions

I had some problems with a Lenovo X220 that I was working on and decided to reformat the it.

Background info :
-Installed from the docking station's DVD-ROm - no integrated DVD rom
-Installation of Windows 7 x64 completed successfully
-Prompted to reboot, when rebooted, Windows 7 does not load, I eject the DVD so as to not get the "boot from dvd" option , but WIndows 7 still does not load - Black screen with no HD activity (ie HD light not blinking)
-reinstalled more than 4 times, same problem.
-repaired the MBR - no luck.

My first time to work on a Lenovo machine , PLEASE HELP!!!!

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

wipe the HD using Diskpart Clean Command from DVD System Recovery Options Command Line,

reset BIOS to defaults Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install.

Then follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

thanks for replying, i am currently downloading the "Lenovo ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery" software, if that doesn't work I will try your solution. I will keep you posted
