Hi,

Can someone take a look at the Minidumps and see if you can find out the cause, the laptop is a brand new (2 days old) Dell Lat. E6510 and the Mem test and HDD Long test come out clean.

Thanks,

Abdul Moid

Hi,

Your BSOD issues are most likely hardware - In which case you should immediately return your system to Dell - but there is one possible software issue.

Code:
[FONT=lucida console]
RimSerial_AMD64 RimSerial_AMD64.sys Tue Nov 25 06:01:01 [COLOR=Red]2008[/COLOR] - Virtual Serial Port driver for Blackberry
[/FONT]
Update all your Blackberry sync software - and if that does not fix it then send your laptop back to Dell

EDIT: Just noticed that in both dump files NETIO.sys was mentioned - also update your networking drivers from the Dell website: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Reventon

Thanks

Thanks reventon,

This laptop is already a replacement to my Dell E6510 which was BSOD on me within 12 days of purchase. So this was shipped to me as a brand new replacement. As I mentioned that I have ran Memtest86 and HDD tests which come out clean. So I don't think it is hardware. I am curious to know some things that I have asked you in a message.

Many thanks,

Abdul Moid

I will reply to your message here:

Thanks for your quick reply, I will really appreciate if you can let me know how you found the cause to be RIM driver, I do see it in the logs but don't see how you co-relate it to be the cause.
All out of date drivers are suspect when BSODs start occurring - I do not think that the RIM driver is the issue, but it pays to get it out of the way just in case.

Also I will appreciate if you can share with me the name or the process that generates that summary of the BSOD which you have posted in your repy and everyone else posts as well.

What you see in our posts is just the interesting sections copied out of the Windbg output.

Can you please list the programs that you have installed since you got the laptop that were also running at the time of the crash.

What Anti-Virus software do you use?

Hi
Reventon have asked you about the anti-virus software that you use. Now I can see that you are using Kapersky. Third party security anti-virus software are notorious causes for BSODs and kapersky is not an exception. I would suggest to remove kaperskyp completely just for testing purpose only. You can always re-install later incase if it's not the cause

Yes, not only me but I believe other members in this forum would suggest you to you MSE instead, it is product of microsoft, free, light, run smoothy in your system that you don't even know that it exists. It will keep your system up to date, make sure all drivers are up to date, and still fullfill requirement for an anti-virus program. Especially, it is not known for causing BSODs

ttran- MSE does not update any drivers or other programs. It is simply an anti-malware/anti-virus suite.
