Windows 8. Am I the only one that thinks that it's stupid?

I don't like Windows 8.
Why?
My friend has a new computer with Windows 8, this what I didn't like about it
>> It's hard to navigate.
>> When trying to find Bluetooth, I searched the UI, and could not for the life of me.
>> Speaking of UI, it sucks, I don't like navigating through so much stuff, trying to find where I put the music I Bluetoothed from my cell phone.
>> Isn't good for gaming.
>> I think that they rushed the release
>> There's no longer a start orb.
>> People who are used to Windows 95 to Windows 7 will be peed-off that the layout is not what they're used to.
>> There is no longer transparent windows, making it look worse with the "blocky" windows.

Who else agrees with me? Has the sales for Windows 8 been good? Will Windows 9 (or whatever it will be called) have a better UI?

I have a computer with Windows 7. It's pretty beat up, and it's 3 years old, I'm not going to upgraded to Windows 8, in fact, I will downgrade to windows 7. Is it just me? Or who else will agrees with me? Or is it just me?

When I first started Win 8 I could not even figure out how to shut the computer down, once I got internet explorer to run I searched for the stuff I wanted to do then once I figured out how to get the desktop to open and pin programs like I do on Win 7 to the task bar the how to search all my programs I was good to go I have not even installed the old start menu I just kept learning. Now to me it is no different than any other Windows I have used

It looks kinda nice, but darn, since when are programs called apps?! That alone annoys me beyond belief.
Also, why use an OS which is perfected for use on tablets? I'll happily stay with win 7, and maybe win 9, when it comes out.

I have a system with Win 8. I installed it primarily because I do Part-time PC support. I'm not thrilled with it and my recording studio system will remain with Win 7 64 bit, even though my recording studio software (Sonar X2) and hardware appear to work OK in Win 8.

Microsoft should have developed parallel platforms, one for tablets and phones and another for PC's (like the "other" company).

It was an over-reaction to Ipad. With parallel platforms they could have preserved Windows strength with Desktop experience. Instead they went completely to the social media/apps-oriented Ipad format which ruins a productive Desktop experience.

We can only hope they extend Win7 to act as that parallel platform for its perfect desktop experience. If not they may be precipitating the baseless claim that the end of the desktop is in sight.

A good measure of how those are reacting who most value the desktop experience is business, which is moving full steam into Win7 now that XP is ending support and like all consumers love Win7. They won't even look at Windows 8. Sales for Win7 still are climbing - not so, Win8.

MS can either fight this or finally realize and take a bow for creating the greatest OS ever and one of the greatest achievements in tech history, Windows 7, which doesn't show any age and is in every way perfect except as an Ipad.
