cant post a screenshot NOW, as soon as you run the tool it goes into autodetect mode, if an xml file is present/installed, it just throws up the current details


Did the W10 machine previously have W7 installed, if not i would expect the tool to go to a default setting.

As i said and in aroundabout way Hal confirmed, it should be OK
the MS activation servers work on a set of rules if they pass by fair means or foul there likely to stay that way

Thanks, Roy. That's a relief. No. The W10 machine came with W10 installed. It's new.

Afaik the oem.xrm-ms file ( it is an xml format file) has to match the oem bios code. Other oem slp keys work.
I.E. HP bios code needs HP oem.xrm-ms file, but other oem keys will work with it.

This slp.cmd file contains the standard DELL win7 Pro key in the public domain, but afaik other oem keys could be used here
