Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Search Extensions\Client.ex

Hello,

By mistake I might have deleted some programs and now I am getting the error above when I boot up. I went to the folder mentioned (search extensions) and all I can find in it is "Uninstall.exe" and nothing else so, I need help on how to recover client.exe. I have Windows 7 home premium.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop. Follow both steps 1 and 2




Step 1.

• Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
• Click on the Scan button.
• AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
• After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
• The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
• Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
• A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

Step 2.
Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:
This time click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.

A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder

In this morning, I turned on my computer (Windows 8.1 to work and got this error message. I believe there is a bunch of people struggling with this error message. Here I’m sharing the solution that i used to resolve this issue.

Step 01. Go to My computer.

Step 02. Double click on the C Drive.

Step 03. Go to Windows -> System32 -> Tasks folder.

Step 04. Find and delete all the files that has a word “Rocket“

Step 05. Now try rebooting your computer. The error message won’t be appeared anymore.

I found that Cdnath is right, I did exactly as recommended on my win 7 laptop and it works.

I followed your instructions and it did work in deleting the error message, but now my computer will not connect! It is a Mac in boot camp mode. When I boot up as a Mac, works as it should. But when I boot up in Win7 mode, while it shows that I am connected to the I ternet, a proxy or something is now missing.....any suggestions?
