Solved windows can't find networks

I installed a licensed copy of win 7 ult 64 bit on a new ssd.
After installationI got a message that windows found no wifi networks
even though I was 9 feet from my cisco 4500E. How can I fix this?
computer is an HP Pavilion G7 1260 us.
Processor: 2.4GHZ
RAM: 4 G
ssd 250 G

Thanks. I contacted Crucial support and they told me the same thing. I asked how I could download a driver when I couldn't get on the internet. He told me I had to re-install the old hard drive, download the driver, put it on a disc or flash drive and then re-install the new hard drive. I did not know you could move a driver around. unktim

Unfortunately there are a number of options with that model,
Atheros/broadcom/intel/Ralink and realtek.
Go to you device manger look for problem devices, i dont think it will be under Network adapters
(an !, yellow blob or small down arrow)
give me the details, i tell you where they are ON your system.

Thanks for responding. I am having a lot of trouble finding info on these hp computers. With my Toshiba Tecra M10 I can get a lot of info by clicking on "system" but on our HPs they don't even mention the name of the processor or the number of cores and there is no mention of the hard drive at all.
I was wondering if I could run a system backup and then use a transfer cable with an ssd adapter before I install it.?

Might even be on a sticker on your comp.

click on your network adapter you should have something like mine, if its not there then its likely youll have to open up your lappy and check the two connecters.

Roy, here are my adapters:

Go into properties on the wifi adapter
Check which band its set to 2.4 or 5.0 then see which is being broadcast by the Cisco router.

latest driver if its showing as MS driver

Roy, I tried downloading the driver but every site I tried wanted to install their own automatic updater and did not give me the option to download a single driver so I downloaded all windows 7 drivers to disc and then installing the new ssd and installed the drivers from disc. It didn't work but I noticed a message on the task bar saying that said networks were available. I clicked on the notice and saw a little blurb that said "you can connect by pushing the button on your cisco driver." I pushed the button and when I got back it said "downloading drivers." problem solved!
