Solved Windows Defender Turns Off

Windows Defender keeps getting turned off, particularly when I shut down.

I am also running Microsoft Security Essentials.

Does Microsoft Security Essentials turn off Windows Defender, or is there some other problem?

Windows Defender is configured to start automatically on startup. I am running a Dell laptop, OS Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 64 bit, on High Performance power setting.

You do not need windows defender if you have mse. It is supposed to do that. But since it is enabling nd disabling itself, you should do this to completely disable it:

It is not a complete replacement but it is still better. It should only be enabled when there is something that mse can't do but Windows Defender can.

Incorrect. MSE completely supercedes and replaces Windows Defender if it's installed.

Yes but there are rare times that you may need it. That is why it stays in your system but just gets disabled.
