After a clean install of Windows, i am now getting an error in windows dvd maker when trying to burn a dvd using an AVI file.

It gets to 0.7% encoding and then says finalizing disc and ejects it.
An error is displayed. "Unable to create DVD" "Invalid Class String"

I have the Shark007's Codec pack x86 and x64 installed.
I've tried deleting the 2 registry keys listed in Microsoft answers.
I've also tried the Codec Tweak Tool.

I've unchecked all the codecs under options compatibility in windows dvd maker still did not work.
So far I've wasted 4 dvds trying to get it to work.
It destroys the disc apparently also! because when i put the dvds back in It says there is no disc in Drive D.

I have Windows 7 professional x64 edition untouched.
It's a clean install of windows with only essential programs installed.

Please i need help quick, I promised someone these dvds. :-)

I have the Shark007's Codec pack x86 and x64 installed.

most likely the problem is the video codec used within the AVI.
My software is a playback solution - the file probably plays just fine.

If you go to the Misc TAB of either Settings Application and use the button to [Analyze a media file], I would venture to guess that the avi contains avc video which the dvdmaker software is unable to handle. AVI video files should never contain avc video although several release groups do it anyway simply because they lack the knowledge of how to properly create a video file.

The posted information looks OK for an AVI file.
I have no other suggestions as to why DVDmaker is failing.

Maybe pressing [Reset All] in both of the Settings Application will correct any issue present.

Well i tried something because i was curious.

I uninstalled Shark007 codec pack temporarily.

It's now encoding and burning correctly.

If anyone is having this problem i suggest you uninstall any codec packs you have because they could cause conflict with your windows dvd maker.

I don't burn dvds that often but when i do i guess i will just have to uninstall codec packs.

Shark007 please look into this problem and try to fix for future releases. That would be incredible. I love your codec pack and would highly recommend it to anyone.
