I still don't have an SSD right now i was just planning since i'm doing new install and all and i only have one HDD right now the Seagate hdd

Ooh sorry, I read your post wrong.

In that case you should definitely format your hard drive. Pay special attention to step 8 in the tutorial linked in my previous post;

8. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals except ethernet, Boot the Windows 7 installer, choose Custom Install, then Drive Options (Advanced) to Delete all partitions not needed, repartition and format as shown in Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7.

Memtest is best done overnight. You need to let it do at least 10 passes. The more he better! Though if you see errors it's as well to stop there, remove one memory module and run the test again. You have to locate the bad module if you have one by a process of elimination!

If you still don't feel like opting for the clean install, you could test your HDD using Seatools for DOS.

   Note

Don't choose for the Seatools for Windows option, Seatools for DOS is more effective. The site I linked offers tutorials on how to create a bootable CD for Seatools to run.
