Hi,

win7 64bit pro and using classic shell.
My windows explorer is same look as XP as per my desire and my file list 'details' view normally goes to base of the windows explorer window but there is today a 'pane' there at the base and full width, in which is e.g. the folder icon for the folder I have clicked on in the list above and it has same details beside it as in the details view above. It also shows a couple of images peeking out of it, as the folder above contains images, if I then open the folder above it then says 400 items and the previous data disappears along with the peeking out images. I havent done anything to put that pane there, not that I am aware of.

How do I get rid of that pane ?

Cheers

It is very difficult to us to guess what is happening.

You should review the Classic Shell Explorer settings.

Hi,

I have now looked but dont see a setting, unless I have missed seeing it or knowing of its effect.

Its set to windows xp classic view, I just dont recall seeing a pane at foot of win explorer festooned with details of a file I just selected.

I tried unticking show detail for selected file, but that didnt fix it.

update... in explorer there is organize at top left, in drop down choose layout then I click on 'details pane' an icon with a light blue bar at base and lo and behold it goes.

FIXED !!!:D

I never selected that though as never ever knew what it did or needed it, so something installed had changed it.

It's normal. I have it too but don't want it, so I've learned to ignore it.
