Windows 7 Home Premium - The problem is with Windows Explorer left hand navigation pane. All items Under heading "Libraries" (Documents etc.) and those under heading "Computer" such as Local Disk (C:) etc. randomly go into expanded display, showing all folders when I have not clicked to expand. I have de-selected both "Show all folders" and "Expand to current folder" options that appear when right clicked on the navigation pane. It happens very fast, that to drag and drop a file is almost impossible because it invariably goes in to a wrong folder in the expanded view.

Hello Melita

Does the issue occur on all User Profiles on the computer?

Can you perform a Clean Boot and see if the issue persists after that start-up mode?

Sorry I was away and missed your post. Yes, the issue persist on all user profiles and also in Clean Boot configuration.

Something I forgot to mention... if I click on any of the Libraries or Local Disks, nothing happens at that time. But the moment I double click on any folder in that Library or the Local Disk, it expands immmediately displaying all items. This happens only if I click on a folder and not if I click on a file.

Welcome to the thread :-) This behaviour is quite messy in an otherwise neat Windows Explorer!
