Hi,

My windows is closing unexpectedly when ever I'm trying to convert videos using Handbrake and render my work files on Premier Pro. Before I didn't face this kind of problem it's happening after giving my Mother Board for servicing because of some power problem. I tried in all possible ways I know to fix this problem like reinstalling all codecs and programs, I also reinstalled my Windows but there is no change. I'm using Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with latest updates. Except this almost every thing is normal. How to fix this problem, is this happening because of problem in Mother Board?

You only have 2 updates installed since SP1 - most systems have 75 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates.

System logfile shows issues with your nVidia video drivers and your Forceware IP manager. Please update both of these devices/programs.

Application logfile shows issues with Windows Update and Handbrake.

May be I didn't explain properly in previous posts. What actually happening to my PC is it's going completely off after some time I'm putting some thing for render or conversion. Completely off means it's going in to power off mode with out any error message or sound.

Yes dude my system only have 2 updates it's because I re installed my OS just before I generated my system log. As I told before it was working perfectly on same OS but, only after bringing my Mother Board back from Servicing Center this is happening. I thought re installing Windows may solve this problem so I formatted my Windows but there is no use of it. So I'm asking here.

Actually what I'm asking is "Is this happening because of any hardware problem?" If it is happening because of it I'll take my PC to Servicing Center .

I fix systems by working in this order:
- fixing 3rd party and Windows Updates issues
- fixing hardware issues
- fixing Windows issues

There are many different 3rd party and Windows Updates problems that can resemble hardware problems.
And it's easier to fix 3rd party and Windows Update problems than it is to isolate a random hardware problem somewhere in the system without correcting the 3rd party/Windows Updates issues first.

FYI - service centers can make mistakes also. I battle with them at work on a regular basis.

You can either follow my suggestions or you can do it your way. Please let me know and I'll unsubscribe from this topic.

1) Update nVidia video drivers from the nVidia website: Drivers - GeForce

2) As long as you're there, update your chipset (Forceware) drivers: NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.49WHQL

3) Visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates. If there are any problems with getting them, post back here so we can figure out a way to get them on your system.

4) Visit the Handbrake website and update your copy: HandBrake
v0.9.6 has at least one crash fix in it.

5) Monitor for further problems.

If the crashes continue, post back with a new jcgriff2 report.

While waiting for a reply, try the tests here: Additional Hardware Diagnostics
Let us know the results.

Ahhh!!! A clue!!! If it closes when running Prime95, then it's likely a memory problem.

Prime95 stresses 3 different things:
- RAM
- CPU cache
- memory controller (built into the CPU on AMD X3 processors)

Run Prime95 with the Blend, Small FFT's and Large FFT's. Track the time until it errors out on you (either errors in the Prime95 program, or errors with the system stopping/crashing). These tests should be run at the same time in order to keep the results consistent. If it crashes fastest on Blend, then it's likely to be a RAM problem. If it crashes fastest on either of the other tests, then it's time to run CPU stress tests.

Then run some of the free CPU stress tests here: Additional Hardware Diagnostics

Bro I did all tests as you told. Windows crashing timings after starting every test like this.
Blend Test: 45 Sec Approx
Small TFT: 20 Sec Approx
Large TFT: 25 Sec Approx

So today I have contacted my processor's customer care center executive he told me to bring my processor to their Service Center after 2 days. I'll also go to RAM servicing center on the same day.

Any way thanks a lot for your support and nice to meet you bro. Again you proved SF is best...

A simple solution that worked for me is to run HandBrake with a priority of Below Normal. This seems to prevent HandBrake from running at 100% on all processors and causing the unexpected and sudden shutdown.

I think the root cause is a Panic Attack! :p
