Hello - if someone could help, i'd be eternally grateful! I have an ASUS laptop that is not even a year old, running on Win7 64bit. For the past few weeks the computer has been crashing periodically, sometimes BSOD and sometimes just random shutdowns. It's driving me crazy, and especially since this computer is my livelihood, I'm wondering if I just have to chuck it and get a new one. I don't know much about computers and what goes on 'behind the scenes', so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum staples,

Reduce items at start-up:
Perform a clean boot:
Norton can be a cause of BSOD's. Please remove it for testing purpose.

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-
:warn: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
Scan with Kaspersky TDSSKiller:
ESET online scanner:
Check for heating issues using Speccy or HWmonitor

Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

AiCharger.sys Fri Sep 23 08:04:40 2011 (4E7BE938)
Asus Charger Driver [br] Likely BSOD cause - haven't seen recently (15Jan2013)
Driver Reference Table - AiCharger.sys

Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall stubborn software. Opt for Advance Mode while uninstalling which allows you to remove leftover registry:-
Keep us posted.
