Windows Live Essentials Beta due for release

Why are there so few opinions for accounts in Live Mail? I added my account but it doesn't look like there are options to change Send/receive settings or things like delete off server Am I just not seeing it or are these options not there?

Click Accounts and on the ribbon select Properties. If you have more than one account just select the account on the left side and then Properties.

i cant install it anymore, it also thinks its still installed. it also wont let me install the old one because its still installed

The first time I tried to Install, I mustve disrupted it because I ran into the same issue. My fix was to run System Restore. No need to uninstall OS

Thanks for the info. Everything was fine here. Download and unselected everything except Messenger and installing now.

Don't feel bad! When installing here I ended up restoring the entire system from an image due to a bad install of some type. I have a feeling it's still a bit too buggy for many and could cause problems for those that don't see immediate favorable results.

also it seems the beta is now in c and not b

tho it may just be the new install. but all beta suers should try and see if it updates your installs

From the brief look at it once on that was something different to see. I didn't care for how the Messenger contact catagories were rearranged however. The word here is just be a little cautious with this release when downloading and installing to make sure things go as they should.

Yes, I found it.

If you select "Download now" it downloads wlsetup-webd.exe which installs the complete package.

If you select "Choice the programs you want" it downloads "wlsetup-webc.exe" and it will give you the choices and also will update the ones you have install already.

They have just moved "wlsetup-webc.exe" to the "Download Now" button and is the same version from yesterday.

That was a first for sure seeing that one! I was still in good shape however having a few new drives images made in the last few days when you consider not being able to get the av program uninstalled and reinstalled once that happened!

Plus that was the first actual mishap seen with any of the WL downloads since they came out! Now I am stuck waiting for the finished version because of it.

WL accually does have a bad history of effing itself up on uninstall . but usually it only affects itself.

This was seen during the install here however which was rather alarming. Typically especially with any fresh install of messenger for example you expect the need to go back after any of those funny emotions or winks for the Live messenger but not have to restore your entire drive!

The one thing sure about beta anything however is that beta is still beta and anything can happen! :roflmao:

i was only terying to go back cuz of the video call, u always have to make a 2 way call with voice.

heres my gripes with the wave 4 besides install/uninstall probs

no alias! it pretty much gets rid of aliases. if you want one then too bad. kind of annoys me (correct if wrong)

Webcam, 2 way only, no one way. one way was the only way i used it. if the other perosn has no cam, no webcam can be used

drawing..... i like drawing penises for the other person

1. You can go to the More Options part, and set your name to not show a last name and put your first name as whatever you want your Alias.

there is no save contact list in contacts

once you maximize the window it, close it and then you reopen it, its back to its original restored down size

some people are online but not receiving messages

why cant you talk to people that are online facebook chat from msn? you can only talk to people from facebook that you have on msn but it add's all your friends/artists/groups etc but you can only send them msg via facebook inbox.
