Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with Windows Live Mail 2011. It crashes everytime I use it. Sometimes it crashes immediately on startup, other times it crashes a couple minutes after startup. Here's my error message:

Description

I've tried repairing, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling, and nothing has worked. It keeps crashing still.

ntdll.dll points towards the Windows Kernel itself, if I'm not mistaken.
Have you recently run an antivirus/antimalware scan on your PC to ensure you don't have any viruses and other bad guys?

Is your internet explorer working OK? How long has WLM been problematic.

I use Mozilla Firefox. But IE seems to work fine.

It's a new PC, I bought it 6 days ago. WLM worked fine for 2 days and then started crashing uncontrollably afterwards.

As Gornot said the ntdll.dll points to the windows kernel. Download the free version of malwarebytes anti malware update it and then run a full scan. It may pick something up that MSE is missing if indeed there is a nasty lurking somewhere.

I ran the full scan with Malware Bytes and it found nothing.

Guess I'm gonna give up and switch to another client. Thanks for trying to help, though.

Any windows updates since you have had the pc. Or was it fully updated including SP1 when you got the pc.Anyway a 6 day old pc should not be stuffing you around like this. Take it back and get them to fix it, am sorry I can't help you. Keep an eye on this thread there are a lot of knowledgeable people here.

I am having the same problem as Cosmiccountry. It started about 3 days ago, right after several Windows updates were applied. I tried a System Restore to a point before the updates but to no avail. I have also ran the repair feature from the Control Panel with no luck. I have found that if I click on a saved email message from my desktop it will open the email using WLM 2011 and let me forward it, edit it,and do any other this you can normally do from and open email. It also lets me access my contacts from the To", Cc;, or Bcc: lines.

When I first started having the problem, WML 2011 would open but all of my folders were empty, including all the storage Folder I have created over the past year of use. It opened fine several times and then it suddenly would not open at all.

I am open to any siggestion but am a novice at the behind the scene working of the software and computer. I do have a firned thoguh who is knowledgable and can implement actions for me if need be.

Thansk for any help,
Sledge

Since the original post, both the OS and WLM have been updated, so I wonder if you have the latest versions of both:

Windows Live Mail = 15.4.3538.0513
Windows 7 (SP1) = 6.1.7601

I believe I have the most recent version of each except that the version of WLM I have is .3538 and not .3835 as you indicated.
