Recently migrated to Windows Live Mail and copied the sent items folders but in the "To" field, my own name appears instead of name of the person whom I sent email to? Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help,

Raj

Once you copy the emails to another folder it is apparently considered a separate transmission, so the email is now considered to be from you to you. The same thing will happen if you copy emails from your Received items folder to any other folder.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I did not change the folder - just copied from "sent items" to "sent items".

Regardless, I still have the original emails. Is there a way to transfer these emails so that I don't lose the original "To" information?

You can't just copy a folder from one program to another. You should "export" messages from within the original program, creating a separate folder on you hard drive containing a folder with all your messages. Then, from within the new program use its "import" messages function to import the folders you want within the new program. You will be asked to specify the format of the mail you are importing (Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Windows Live Mail). The messages will then show up within WLM as subfolders under the storage folders group. At that point you can move the messages into new folders under Storage or under any of the mail accounts if you like.
