I recently got a prompt for a Windows Live Mail 2011 update. So, I allowed it. Upon rebooting it required that I log onto the Messenger feature, which I never use and don't care to. So I canceled the Messenger prompt and then my entire Mail system failed. I then used the Win7 Restore function to fall back to prior system files and now all is Ok. How does one avoid the Messenger logon problem -- or does the Mail update contain errors?
