Hello,
I have a new PC, which has a fast graphic card and memorystuff. It's especially for playing heavy games/running heavy graphic programs on it, that's why I chose this PC.
My PC is still empty with windows 7, I store all videostuff on my external hard disk.

And STILL my Windows Live Movie Maker 2.6 is running slow. It has problems with playing a clip, cutting a clip. It gives me "Not Responding" every time I want to play a clip. Playing a preview of the endvideo is a big problem for the program because it just won't play it. (There aren't other programs running in the back).
How can I run this program without getting stuck?

Or should I switch over to another program?

I can only comment based on my experience, but I found Windows Live Movie Maker to be so slow as to be useless. Several times, I started it and the progress was so slow as to be painful!

Other, commercial products are much faster.

Well there is Windows LIVE Movie Maker and Windows Movie Maker 2.6 but I have never heard of Windows Live Movie Maker 2.6?????? Maybe you got the title wrong.

In my view, Windows Live Movie Maker sucks and that's what I keep saying in this forum. Its not as good as the standard Movie Maker and it doesnt even have a timeline which is a huge drawback and if this is the kind of movie maker you are saying, then the lagging only adds up to the list of problems with it.

Windows Movie Maker 2.6 (not from Windows Live Essentials) is much better and I used that on Windows 7 to make videos which I later uploaded to Youtube. It has flaws but works just fine on Windows 7 and I love it. If you are not using this version, please switch to it now.

You may also try running the program in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Ok it's now working a bit faster now, but another problem is occuring: my timeline won't play. I have seen this problem a lot on internet. So I will look out for another program, Windows movie maker isn't working for me. :(
