I could be wrong but I believe that Microsoft is trying to phaze out One Care in favor of providing the free Microsoft Security Essentials

if i remember correctly one care did poorly in anti virus round ups.

I have no idea, I do get a lot of people emailing me (thinking i'm MS :sarc saying they are having trouble renewing their sub, some people have even been known to send their credit card info in the emails.

Perhaps since you are Dr. Evil and Microsoft is considered evil...

...anyhow I thought I read a bit back that Microsoft was going to honor the subs but I never pursued it farther...

They keep Microsoft's technical assistance in high esteem then...you won't find any level of Microsoft assistance on par with that this forum can provide

Yes it performed poorly. Many false positives, less on demand and on access catches. It was a bloat. MSE is much better.

It seems that Microsoft will honor the subscriptions up to the last one runs out + 1 year of additional updates from that date. I want to make a point clear: Microsoft states that One Care WILL NOT BE UPDATED to support Windows 7
