Solved Windows Not Responding

Hi, I having some issues with Windows 7 after wiping the hard drive with the diskpart command. Also this seems to happen when after I start downloading some windows updates like the Windows 7 service pack 1. I boot Windows up everything run fine for about 3-5 mins then everything that's running stop Responding then I force Shut down. I turn it back on, Chkdsk starts "Sometimes" and the cycle starts over.
Is my hard drive dying or is it other issue? Here's the what the Chkdsk says.

Hello, is anyone out there? Do I need to replace my hard drive or is it different issue?

And if I do is this a good one to use?

If you wiped the hard drive with Diskpart Clean or Clean All commands then there is nothing on it. I assume you've since reinstalled and that the Disk Check is run on a single full-disk partition? Or did you reinstall yet?

Run Disk Check again until it comes up clean. Then run the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan. If there isn't one for your hard drive model (which you can google to find from its listing in BIOS setup) then use Seagate Seatools bootable CD Full scan.

If the HD fails both tests repeatedly, replace it. The best upgrade one can have now is an SSD, which is lightning fast and better than buying a new high end PC without one.

Once your HD passes both tests, do a perfect Clean Reinstall Windows 7 . If it balks then Troubleshoot Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums

I did the Clean all Command, waited like an hour, then created a primary partition using create partition primary and formatted with the format FS=NTFS Label="Ruben" command, waited an hour then Active Command. Reinstalled Windows 7, the computer is fine no issues until I started to download the Windows updates, as soon as SP1 is installed everything like I 3 to 5 mins start to not respond and I have to force shut down, then disk check starts automatically, which gives me that info on the notebook. I already did this a 2nd time just to made sure it wasn't just a error the 1st time.

What do mean by until is becomes clean, it always says the same thing? I assume you run it before doing the HD Diagnostic you provided. I did the HD Diagnostic but hard drive does not show up on program it provided. It seems stop on the Detecting PCI ICE Controller 0- Master when I Rescan it. It could detect the hard drive on the Seatools for DOS but the test appears to have failed.

The hard drive I have is a Hitachi HTS545032B9SA00 ATA Device. Does it matter what kind of HDD/SSD Hard Drive I can get or does it have to be within the Laptop Model?

The hour long full format after wiping was a strong indicator that there are problems with the hard drive.

Did you try the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test version suggested in HD Diagnostic burned to CD? You may need to go into BIOS setup to change SATA controller to IDE just for the test. The reason to run the maker's test is it often has repair capabilities, however many of us here would never trust a hard drive after it fails the test even if it repairs.

Otherwise if that or Seatools continues to fail the HD without reporting it was repaired, and Disk Check run from the disk's System Recovery Options Command line also will not give a clean result, then I would replace the HD.

The best upgrade one can have with Win7 is an SSD, even better than buying a new high-end PC without one. Do a perfect Clean Reinstall Windows 7.
