A few days ago, I was updating through windows update then when it's the time to restart. The "Configuring service pack" stuck to 44% and after a few minutes, it shut down. Then repeated again ad got stuck again in 44% and it just repeats the process. I was annoyed so I pushed the power button and rebooted the laptop then after the welcome screen (or b4 dunno) It just says "Failes to configure sp or sumthing then reverted to original" then when I saw the update history I saw that SP 1 failed to install. I tried to manually install it but failed to continue because some components are missing. I dunno wat to do anymore. I'm a computer noob. Please help TT_TT

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Thabk you for replying, I've already tried sfc scan and it says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations" and as for SURT, there's always this error about user or something i don't remember.

Anyway, here's the log and the windows update log

Your SFC scan completed in a very short span.
CheckSUR appears to have failed completely.
I suspect that your install of Windows is counterfeit - so let's do a check.

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Here's the result of the MGADiag and unfortunately, I don't see any COA sticker :( so it's as you said, a counterfeit :(

As suspected, the install is counterfeit - the installed Product Key is the infamous Lenovo Stolen Key, and was blocked even before Windows 7 launched. It cannot be valid on any computer.
The machine itself looks as if it should have a Windows 7 COA sticker on it - check inside the battery compartment.

You need to reformat and reinstall using the edition that matches the COA sticker - if there's no COA sticker then the machine is not licensed.

TT_TT I see. Well that's too bad haha as expected from a secondhand property :P Thanks for sticking though :)

I already looked at the battery compartment and I don't see any COA sticker that the microsoft website describes. But will I loose my files and data if I reinstall/reformat? I don't have any spare flash drives. That would be bad :((

Yes, you'd lose everything on the C: drive :(
depending on how much there is, you could back up to DVD, or to an external HD (can you borrow one?)
