Thank you for your reply darnit!!!
When i install Windows 7 it tells me "Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware", it comes up all the time in the final instance of the installation where it says "Completing installation".

can you tell us if you downloaded windows seven or purchased it. The problem can be caused by a badly burned dvd, or by some hardware issue. Could you tell us about your computer? Was windows 7 on the cumpouter when you bought it, or was vista on it?

I have a downloaded version of 7 home premium and ultimate...but shows same error. It works fine with my other very old comp....I burnt it, done USB burning as well, done DIRECT install without any burning nor programing....non of it works...
I have installed it even from a friends cd which tends to be a Genuine one, but i end up with the sameeee problem "windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware"...upgrade and custom, NTFS volume....60GB to 70Gb Hd for it....and that's all i have to say.....turned off legacy mode from setup utility......SATA controller to compatible mode forces vista to crash on boot, but still i did it and 7 shows the same problem at the end....updated my BIOS, didn't work. Restored my comp to a factory setting...Doesn't work either.....I don't think my video card may be the problem....ATI Catalyst Radeon HD 3650. I don't think it's my hard drive that is faulty, other versions of windows works welll!!!!
i went and asked the store for help, they **** me saying it works even on the oldest computers that run 1.8Ghz processors, why won't it work on mine???
Google is a fridget meN!!! it doesn't have enough solutions!!!
