I installed windows 7 about 5 minutes ago. I then tried to go to the internet and it says that there is not a properly installed network device. How do fix this? In vista in just worked.

I had the same problem with the Beta version on one of my machines. But I set up my network adapters manually with the drivers downloaded to a flash drive from another computer. I manually installed the ethernet card drivers. Once I got it online everything updated with no problems, including the wifi. When I installed the 7RC (a clean install, not upgrade) I did not have the same problem on that machine. The adapter worked on install. I was running Vista also.

Hope this helps...

Hi korze,

Would like to know if you've also installed/upgraded' Windows? If yes, please share details. It is essential to install the 'Network Drivers' to ensure proper functionality. Please share the following details so that I may help you further:

1. Please install this utility to capture your system specification: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html; alternatively, you may share the make/model of the 'Computer & Network Cards' installed in the system.

2. Check the current status of 'Network Adapters' in 'Device Manager': Click 'Start' > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in 'Search Programs and Files' text-box and tap 'Enter' > (Device Manager page opens up) > Expand 'Network Adapters' category (This shows the network devices installed in the system. Also check if any exclamation/question mark is seen besides it; share its details) > Also browse through the complete list of 'devices' listed on this page to see if any devices are mentioned underneath 'Other Devices' (If yes, please share details).

You may choose to attach screenshots of the related information on 'Device Manager' page; may prove helpful.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the information; glad to assist.
