Hi all,
I've been using my basic; custom built PC for a while now, about a 3 months ago I installed Windows Ultimate 64bit on my second hard drive; while keeping Windows XP on my first one, although within the past couple of weeks it has been slowing down and stopping for several minutes at a time, this happens at least 2-3 time in an hour. Sometimes the computer crashes and has to be restarted, it comes up with the "select an operating system" and once I've picked Windows 7 it goes blank, there is no image on the screen although the monitor doesn't turn off so there must be an image been sent trough.
I've done installed/updated all the updates and drivers that i can find, although none have benefited me.
Cheers for your time,

Try Error-Checking your hard-drive with ECC:

Start > Computer > Right-Click Hard-Drive(s) > Properties > Tools tab > "Check now"

Also, open Command Prompt and use the System File Checker to check for any corrupted system files (original installation disc will be able to repair and replace these files if any corrupted files are found)

Windows key + R > Run > Enter (without quotes) "cmd" > SFC /SCANNOW
