I am having trouble with the Windows 7 Premium 64 Bit SP 1 installing.

I have tried all kinds of the Microsoft repairs and they are not getting it done.

I did the tool fixer, the updater Repair, lots of other stuff but was careful not to get in the Registry even though I have been ther before.

I know from reading some forums that this is fixable so I am going to post my log files and see what happens so here we go !!.

Thanks
Danny

donerdj,

I don't like what I see. I don't know whether your system was corrupt to start with or whether any of the "tools" you used inflicted pain.

Were you having problems with your Win 7 before the attempt to install the SP1?

Hello, and welcome to the Seven Forums!

Let's see what we can do!

WARNING! This fix was created specifically for this user! If you are not this user, do not follow these instructions!
@Donerdj: Ignore the above :)

Download the attached .zip file. Inside it, will be two folders, Packages and Manifests.

Create these folders if they do not already exist: C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests

Extract Packs.zip onto your Desktop. Please place the contents of my Desktop\Packages in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and my Desktop\Manifests in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests.

DO NOT place the .zip file in that folder, or the folders themselves. Make sure that a lot of files are in each of those Checksur folder.

Re-run the System Update Readiness Tool, and get me another copy of C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

Also, please retest Windows Updates (with fingers slightly crossed, no matter how much we both know that that won't help! lol.)

Thanks a lot!

Richard

P.S. If still no joy, please try the excellent advice posted above by Karlsnooks.
