Deleted Windows Registry Key!

Hello,

So a while ago my computer got that error and i literally tried everything i can to fix it, and failed. I now realize the reason i get an error is because a while ago i deleted my ProductId from the registry for a reason, and exported it but now i cant seem to find, i must have deleted it by accident. But now i literally how no idea if im able to recover it somehow, or recreate it. I would really appreciate if im able to recreate it somehow!

it was in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

remember theres ProductID and ProductId, i have ProductID which is located in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\00002119F20000000000000000F01FEC\InstallProperties

but i need ProductId, which is located only in \CurrentVersion

I can't think of very many reasons to delete your product ID from the registry but we won't focus on that for now.

Lets start by running a few things and Noel should be around to check out your logs.

Follow the links below and post the required logs so we can take a look

I'll get to it once i get home, but i have a question. Would i be able to take the ProductId file and open it up in notepad and edit it to my computers Key and settings etc. or are they COMPLETELY different?

BTW: I KNOW i get that error because i deleted the ProductId, all i need to do is get it back or recreate it.

Dont know if you'll find it now that you deleted the registry key.
You will have to recreate the Registry key, and then i suspect the system will ask you for the PiD.
Your Backup key can be found,
If you have a desktop the label will be on the side, lappy underside or in the battery compartment, custom build will be on the packaging.

Edit
in my W7 it is NOT in that registry entry.
looks like you've got it wrong, where did you get that info???

I solved the problem, i created a string in that place called ProductId and my PC automatically recreated the file, all is good now. Although my PC is saying checking for updates for over 10 hours now (Havent been updated for 2 years)
