Solved Windows Update Error 800B0100 - Updates KB2973112 + KB2943357

Hi,
I am having some issues when trying to carry out windows updates, I am getting an error showing 800B0100.

It appears that 2 security updates are failing - KB2973112 + KB2943357

I have no idea what is wrong and getting a little frustrated :confused:

I have attached Checksur.log and hope that someone may well be able to help me.......Please!

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to me as if there was a major problem during the install of KB2943357 :(

I'll try and post a fix protocol later today - but it may be tomorrow.

I've uploaded a file - rslaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder rslaa the same place.

Open this folder- there should be two folders inside it (Manifests,and Packages)
Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifestsfolder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Looks like I got them all ;)

Now we check the system - run an SFC scan and post the CBS.log file...

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories

Right-click onthe Command Prompt entry

Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt- the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.

At the Commandprompt, type

SFC /SCANNOW

and hit the Enterkey

Wait for the scanto finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.



Upload theCBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply - you'll have to copy it to the desktop first

Great - with any luck, WIndows Update should now be working -do a Check for Updates, and attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found.
If it fails to go in properly, post the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file

If it goes in OK, try the rest.
