Hello,
I have been having problems installing 2 Important updates onto my machine. I have tried to install them several times since they was released, but every time I get the same Error Code: 800B0100.

I have followed the steps from your "Windows Update Posting Instructions", and I have attached the checksur log to the thread as well. However, the CBS.log will not allow me to read it so I only included checksur.log and checksur.persist.log.

Thanks!

I've uploaded a file - lbfaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder lbfaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Hello,

There was only a manifests folder in the lbfaa.zip so I did as you said with that and reran the CheckSUR tool. It said that it found 62 errors and fixed 59. I have attached the logs again. Thanks for the help.

Just to check back in, I ran the windows updater and it installed one of the updates that wasnt cooperating before along with a few others, however it was still hung up on KB3006121 with error 800B0100.

The initial reason why I started looking into this problem was because the "Turn on and off Windows Features" list from the control panel would not populate and I am looking to turn Windows Media Player back on. Some threads I read said to try running the CheckSUR tool for that and when I looked at the log I saw the errors and posted here. My additional question is do you think that fixing KB3006121 and rerunning the CheckSUR tool could help to repopulate that Features list or is it likely I will need to go to a restore point (or Heaven Forbid a fresh install)?

I'll get that fix posted soon - honest!

I doubt that the fix I post will fix your blank Features panel - but that is a known problem and we can worry about it after fixing WU.(possibly in a new thread - but let's not get ahead of ourselves!)

Very strange happenings here. I placed the packages in the folder and ran the CheckSUR utility, saw all errors fixed, zipped the logs, and restarted. I then attempted to update and it failed with the same 800B0100. However, the Windows Features list which I mentioned yesterday did populate this time after the checkSUR tool ran successfully. I have attached the checkSUR.log and the checkSUR.persist.log.

Sorry my case has been so much trouble!

Much appreciation for the good work you do.

CheckSUR appears to have found one error - and fixed it...
