Hi, after a long absence from this forum, I have hit a problem with Windows update on a clean install of W7 Pro with SP1.
I have spent quite a while scouring the net with re loads etc until I found KB3102810 which seems to fit the symptoms.
After installing this I have been able to install 200+ updates & all seems good - I did have to abort at no 119 when it stuck, but a reboot and off it went again.
Obviously no guarantee, but it did the job for me.
PC is a Philips Freevent with 2GB & a Centrino Duo - not exactly cutting edge :o !
But it is working now!

There have been issues with fresh install & repair installs. Windows update has been taking a long, long time (hours & hours) to complete. Hopefully KB3102810 will work for others as well. Thanks for your post.
