Windows update repeatedly failing with 3 updates

Hmm, not sure. KB2963950 is neither listed as an available update nor as an installed update. KB2929437 for IE also continues to fail with error 80246007 and the same message about not being applicable on the stand alone install.

Sorry for the late reply, work and World Cup.

Anyway, tried running the stand alone install for that update and failed after restart. Attached are the CBS and windowsupdate logs. In the meantime, a whole host of new updates rolled out today, and all the security updates for Windows 7 and IE failed. Ugh.

I've never seen so much detail in a CBS log - it's scary!
Unfortunately, it's also not terribly enlightening :(

The main error types appear to be these..
Code:
2014-07-11 15:49:44, Error                 CSI    [EMAIL="0000005e@2014/7/11:19:49:44.719"]0000005e@2014/7/11:19:49:44.719[/EMAIL] (F) d:\win7sp1_gdr\base\wcp\cmiadapter\installers.cpp(352): Error HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_INTERNAL_ERROR) originated in function Windows::WCP::CmiAdapter::CMIWrapperBasicInstaller::ResolveAndInvokeInstaller expression: hr
[gle=0x80004005]
2014-07-11 15:49:44, Error                 CSI    [EMAIL="00000030@2014/7/11:19:49:44.735"]00000030@2014/7/11:19:49:44.735[/EMAIL] (F) CMIADAPTER: Exiting with HRESULT code = HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_INTERNAL_ERROR).
- but there's over two thousand error lines in that CBS log, and all from the 11th after 15:37

Conversely, there minimal detail from the windowsupdate.log file

I'll have to review the thread and see what I can come up with - but I admit it doesn't look promising.

Yikes. It seems like it may be worthwhile just to do a repair install of Windows at this point.
