Hi all,
I tried to search for this anomaly but did not find a post.
1.) Control Panel
2.) Windows Update
3.) "Windows must install update to update, update window will close and reopen"

I have never seen this before.
Is this normal or a sign of malware being loaded to my kernel ?
Fresh install.

Thank you.
LP

Edit: the PC did not reboot during this update.

Hi Linux,
seems pretty unusuall to me.
Standard message from WU either shutdown/update now or postpone.

As you said its a fresh install, were'd you get the ISO???
(i see its a retail motherboard)
It could be compromised.

On my last couple of Clean Installs I got the same message.
I installed the KB as requested and things went well. I was using a OEM Microsoft Windows 7 Pro DVD. This request seem to be some sort of thing that helps the rest of the Updates to download and install; but I can't prove that.

I didn't use to get this message. I'm hoping it helps with Windows 7 Updates.

I have had problems with windows updates on 2 machines.
But that could be my fault I don't just allow all updates to download & install.
I check them out first.
I think it might be part of a MS Fix me script.
It seems to help, but I am always on the lookout.
I hate reloading fresh takes too long.
So when its tweaked I'll clone it to a backup.
At least I am not alone in this Strange thing. :lol
