I have always been a faithful Google Chrome user, but just recently I had a Windows update for my PC (Running Win8) and well, my download and upload speeds have been down for Chrome. I have been testing on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test a lot recently and ever since I had had my last Windows update, I have dropped from an average of 15-20mb/s to 6-10mb/s. I have cleaned out my cache and deleted my history (which usually helps me load Youtube vids when they start buffering a lot) and that has done nothing. I don't have a single add-on to Chrome either. Just recently I installed IE10 and I was surprised to find that not only my ping was cut in 1/4, but my speeds were ranging from 18-22mb/s again.
Also, I checked the date when I downloaded the update for Windows and checked my tests on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and the numbers matched perfectly. I started getting a waay lower average after that date, and I have never had a problem with this before then. I asked a friend to test it on his computer and he said the same thing where Chrome was running much slower.
Any thoughts?
